MCAS Miramar Veterinary Treatment Facility

MCAS Miramar's U.S. Army Veterinary Treatment Facility's mission is medical support for the military dogs that are assigned to MCAS Miramar and control of zoonotic diseases. Primary services provided for privately-owned animals are pet registration (if living on base), routine vaccinations, heartworm testing and prevention, intestinal parasites prevention and treatment, flea control, and limited sick call appointments. Health certificates are provided at no cost for PCS moves and at a minimal cost for other traveling purposes. Animals are seen by appointment only.

All animals must be properly restrained while in the VTF: cats in carriers and dogs on a leash. For your child's safety, no children under 12 years of age are allowed on pet appointment days.

The VTF is unable to provide 24-hour service. Civilian veterinarians are listed in the Yellow Pages. We recommend that you contact a provider with a 24-hour service before you need it!
