Navy Wounded Warrior (NWW) is the Navy’s official program providing non-medical care, resources, and support for seriously wounded, ill, and injured Sailors and Coast Guardsmen. The program also assists families and caregivers throughout recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration.

What Navy Wounded Warrior Provides

How NWW Works

Regional NWW teams partner with service members and families to identify goals and create a clear path forward. Each team includes Regional Directors, Recovery Care Coordinators, and Non-Medical Care Managers who help anticipate needs, resolve issues, and guide service members through every stage of recovery.

Comprehensive Recovery Plan (CRP)

A Comprehensive Recovery Plan (CRP) is a personalized roadmap created by the service member, their family or caregiver, and the NWW care team. It outlines goals, priorities, and the steps needed to stay on track during recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration.

Eligibility & Enrollment

Sailors and Coast Guardsmen may enroll through self-referral, family referral, command leadership, or medical providers.

Eligible conditions include:

  • OIF/OEF/OND injuries
  • Shipboard or training accidents
  • Liberty accidents
  • Serious medical or psychological conditions (e.g., cancer, PTS)

Referrals

NWW accepts referrals for all seriously wounded, ill, or injured Sailors and Coast Guardsmen. Complete the referral form and email it to navywoundedwarrior@navy.mil.
